Xiaomi Announces Global Version Of Redmi Note 9 Pro And Note 9 And Mi Note 10

Xiaomi had a major announcement last night with a variety of products revealed so let’s break down what they are and what they’re offering.

Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9

Redmi Note series has been offering some of the most incredible mid-range smartphones on the market, and now the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro comes with a completely new design and comes packed in with some powerful SOCs with Helio G85 for the Note 9 and Snapdragon 720 for the Note 9 Pro. All this while maintaining their huge battery of 5020 mAh capacities as well as affordble prices.

The Redmi Note 9 series sports a quad camera setup on the rear, with the Redmi Note 9 Pro sporting a 64MP main camera and a 5MP macro lens, while the normal Note 9 comes with a 48MP camera and 2MP macro lens. Other than that, they both have 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

For the front camera, the Note 9 Pro has a 16MP in-display camera while the Note 9 has a 12MP one instead.

For fast charging,, the Note 9 Pro comes with 30W fast charging which is Redmi Note Series’ fastest-ever charging speed, with an in-box 33W fast charger that can allegedly charge up to 57% in just 30 minutes. the Note 9 comes with 18W fast charging support instead.

Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in two variants: 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, at a recommended retail price of USD269 (~RM1156) and USD299 (~RM1285) respectively.

Redmi Note 9 has two variants: 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB, at a recommended retail price of USD199 (~RM855) and USD249 (~RM1070) respectively.

Mi Note 10 Lite

The upcoming Mi Note 10 Lite will still have a Snapdragon 730G SoC, just like the other Mi Note 10 phones. In fact, there isn’t a lot of changeis in the Note 10 Lite especially in terms of internals except for the camera of course, which I will touch on soon.

As it is a lite version though, it will have a lower 64GB storage base but it’s still a very capable mid-range phone thanks to the SoC’s A76 cores at 2.3GHz. It also has its 5260mAh battery with 30W fast charger in the box to look out for.

Now in terms of the camera, Xiaomi downgrades the 108MP HMX sensor in the previous Note 10 series in favour of a smaller 64MP Sony IMX686. This isn’t a heavy downgrade s it’s still a quite high-end sensor with 2×2 pixel binning this results in 16MP pictures with an effective pixel pitch of 1.6µm. Along with an f/1.89 aperture and computational photography night modes you should still get some great pictures overall.

Mi Note 10 Lite is offered in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB variants with a recommended retail price at EUR349 (~RM1644) and EUR399 (~RM1880) respectively. All variants come in three color options: Glacier White, Midnight Black, and Nebula Purple.

Will These Be Coming To Malaysia?

Absolutely! But no word on a local pricing and availability yet. We have been informed that should be available sometime mid-May though so stay tuned as that should be in another two weeks.
