BenQ GW2780T Eye-care Monitor Review

The act of using computers are often overlooked for its physical implications upon our physical well being. The fact is, many don’t know how the built of monitors can impact us in the long run, especially for those who work in front of PCs many hours in the day, or even through the night.

In this review, we uncovered a monitor that is designed for both eye care as well as posture care for its versatile position adjustments and overall built quality and features. It is the BenQ GW2780T. Do read on to find out why we love this monitor so much – primarily for its flexible physicality.

Setting Up

Right out of the box, the BenQ GW2780T’s base is a fairly simple one and it’s incredible easy to install, just like most BenQ monitors. It takes seconds to just attach the base on the monitor’s neck. Notice the circular compartment with rubber knobs, this allows the base (and the monitor) to swivel horizontally and rather smoothly too.

Yes, the monitor is originally packaged at 90° angle. And this literally means that you can rotate it to vertical mode should you wish or need this feature. It’s a pretty good feature to have considering that many users are now adopting a vertical secondary monitor for social media and other monitoring purposes.

From the back, it doesn’t really scream out loud and it’s really plain in terms of design.

Ports and Stuff

In terms of connectivity options, you have a display port, and HDMI port, a D-SUB, a Line In for audio source and a headphone jack. Yes, the BenQ GW2780T comes with built-in speakers so you really don’t need a pair of speakers if your computer setup doesn’t already have one.

Here’s a diagram indicating the ports of the BenQ GW2780T for your reference.

For the buttons, nothing to shout about but it’s adequate to control the on board settings.

Adjustments For Posture Care

Adjustments For Posture Care

Secondly, the tilting mechanism allows up to a range of 20° upward and 5° downward. This provides ample motion for your preferred viewing angle.

Thirdly, the height adjustments has a range of 140MM. The mechanism slides effortlessly and even a child could easily adjust the height by lifting the monitor ever so slightly. So don’t worry if you might think that it would be difficult or tough to adjust the monitor’s height.

Intelligent Features

The BenQ GW2780T doesn’t only have all these features for posture-care but it comes equipped with BenQ’s proprietary Brightness Intelligence Technology or B.I. Tech. This technology automatically senses the brightness of ambient surroundings and adjusts the monitor’s brightness in a way that it delivers the most comfortable viewing experience to the user.

Moreover, it has a low blue light emission. It comes with a technology that can filter out blue light (420-455nm). High blue light actually lowers the production of melatonin hormone and disrupts sleep quality in people who are heavy users of PC and digital devices with displays. But the BenQ GW2780T does not actually impair visual quality that has a lot of blue colors. It maintains the picture quality without shifting the colors into shades of yellow.

Other noteworthy features include flicker-free technology. A conventional LCD screen flickers 250 times per second. While it doesn’t seem so, the eye actually perceives over 5.8 million flickers over a period of 8 hours! The BenQ GW2780T eliminates this with the flicker-free tech, which really gives the eye a break at viewing and perceiving visuals.

The BenQ GW2780T also has color weakness mode. This mode provides filters for red color deficiency condition called protanomaly and green color deficiency condition called deuteranomaly.

All these features are certified and approved by TUV Rheinland, making it a product that truly takes care of the human vision.

Conclusion

The BenQ GW2780T might look and feel like any monitor in the market but truly, it is a product that is designed with your eye and posture in mind.

This monitor has all the features to make prolonged use of the computer or PC a healthy endeavor, all thanks to its physical and internal features. Hence, it is perfect for the office and younger consumers who require a lot of care for both the posture and eyes – growing up.

If you’re looking for a basic monitor for your office, take a pause and give the BenQ GW2780T a look. You won’t be disappointed or even regret the decision to purchase a product that is made with your health in mind.

Last but not least, the BenQ GW2780T will come with a 3-year warranty and on-site pickup service! You can get this from Lazada’s BenQ Flagship Store right now.
